I became a tutor because I genuinely love helping others learn in a way that makes sense to them. After six years as a classroom-based GCSE science teacher, I realised how powerful one-to-one teaching can be. During the COVID period, I transitioned into hybrid teaching, and from there, discovered just how rewarding tutoring is.
Seeing students have those “lightbulb” moments—when something finally clicks—is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. It’s a privilege to help learners move from confusion to confidence, especially when I know I’ve played a part in that growth.
I’m a fully qualified science teacher with a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology (2:1) from Oxford Brookes University and a PGCE in Secondary Science (Merit). I also hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Over the years, I’ve taught Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to KS3 and KS4 students of all abilities. Today, I work full-time as a science tutor, offering bespoke 1-to-1 and small group support—including students in alternative provision—both in the UK and internationally.
My teaching style is warm, supportive, and student-focused. I’m naturally empathetic, patient, and encouraging. I believe in forming strong learning relationships built on trust and understanding. I’m not just here to deliver content—I want my students to feel seen, heard, and confident.
All my lessons are planned from scratch, tailored to the student, and fully aligned with the relevant GCSE specifications. I use exam-style questions, mark schemes, and common misconceptions as learning tools. If needed, I provide homework and detailed feedback to track progress and strengthen skills between sessions.
Parents and students often comment on my ability to explain difficult topics clearly, making science more accessible and far less intimidating. I include real-life examples, a pinch of humour, and lots of encouragement to help build understanding and self-belief.
Above all, my goal is to ensure that every student I work with feels supported, motivated, and capable—ready to take on their exams, grow their confidence, and enjoy learning along the way.
